“Courage, this old word, is back in conversation, adorning articles, emblazoned on facades. Serious, ironic, pathetic, rebellious. Let’s talk about it in the most diverse forms of theatre: There is plenty of good stage material! It clearly shows us that fine achievements such as democracy, peace, self-respect, indeed human communication worthy of the name, stand and fall with it. And that courage does not initially mean heroism, but literally “commitment of the heart”, ergo empathy.«
Heroism, drive: countless stories are about this. Here and now, we focus on the literal “use of the heart”…
“Courage means not being impressed by the headwind of majority opinions.”
The unusual up-and-coming Austrian stars Nico Dorigatti and Mario Wurmitzer as well as the award-winning Romanian-French author Alexandra Badea and the acclaimed, ludicrous Israeli-French duo Ishay/Shaked are united in this new program that wants to celebrate with you: poetic contemporary theater is alive!
Wortwiege, an established address for literature and dialog, is hosting the award ceremony as part of its Festival 2025 in the Kasematten Wiener Neustadt. The 2025 prizewinner will be the outstanding writer Emine Özdamar. In addition to the award speeches, excerpts from her work will be presented.
On Saturday, 8 March 2025 at 7 pm, the event “FRAUEN GESTALTEN”, organized by the Women’s Department of the City of Wiener Neustadt, will take place in the Kasematten Wiener Neustadt.
And the Wortwiege will be there: with the performance of Fox On Ice, the international cinematic music show with Anna Luca Poloni (artist alias of Anna Luca Krassnigg) and Christian Mair.
Admission is €25 and includes a welcome drink. The ticket proceeds will be donated to the Wendepunkt association and the Weiberwirtschaft.
